The High School of Syros is a historical model as it was the first high school of the Greek Nation. In 1829 a vision was born, the vision of a better education and with the help of Neophytos Vamvas it became a reality. From November 1833 an upper school had earned its place in the premises of the primary school Hildner and exactly a year after the high school of Syros began to operate officially. Many great personalities of education, arts and sciences sat on the desks of this model high school such as Eleftherios Venizelos, Andreas Syngros, Manos Eleftheriou, Giannoulis Halepas, Costas Beis and Konstantinos Volanakis. 180 years later the high school of Syros continues to operate in new premises rightfully conquering the most important chapter in the modern history of Greek education.
